Susan Spencer What was it like to be a woman during the War of 1812? What would your life have been like? This presentation examines some of the many different roles and experiences of women during that war, placing them in the greater context of life for females during the Regency period, and considering the effects of the massive social and political upheavals of the period upon them. From officers' wives to laundresses, from high society to the underbelly of society -- these women's stories and experiences are vastly different, and all deserve to be told.
