Basics
with Susan Spencer
Learn one of the most elegant arts to be
done with a needle! Starting from the assumption that you
may have held a needle before, we'll teach you the basics, from
fabric choice through the basic stitches and tools to caring
for your completed work. We'll also talk about the different
kinds of thread available to today's embroiderer, and the ramifications
of your choice of materials. By the end of the four sessions,
you will have created a sampler that you can use as a reference
as you approach more advanced and difficult projects. Kit
includes embroidery hoop, fabric, needles, and embroidery cotton.
Participants should bring thread scissors.
