Fashioned after the heirlooms of Victorian Europe and America, Porters are world renowned for blending the grace and elegance of fine furnishing with the moving tone and depth of superior musical instruments.

Porters are the largest disc style music boxes in manufacture today. Each component is handcrafted and assembled in Randolph, Vermont. To control precision and quality, Porter craftsmen finely machine the musical combs and other works in Porter's own shop, using advanced CNC lathes and premium quality tools. This attention to detail is the secret to Porter's trademark sound of multiple octaves and rich harmonic resonance. Encased in beauty, Porter Music Boxes are cradled in cabinets imported exclusively from Italy. Each work of art features intricate inlays of the finest woods. Listeners can select from over 1000 song titles, with more always in production.

The musical combs that create the beautiful rich bass and bell-like treble are manufactured in Porter's machine shop. The tuning was copied from the world-renowned "Regina" music box from Dwight Porter's friend's antique collection. Each comb has 76 teeth for a total of 152 playing teeth, which celeste and harmonize to create the finest, richest, fullest sounding music box in the world. The spring-wound motor clockworks that drive the copper-plated disc will play uninterrupted for approximately 20 minutes on a single winding.

Ingenuity and persistence brought the Porter Music Box into existence. Years of developing and refining techniques and processes have resulted in the creation of a beautiful and intricate machine. The boxes are limited in number by a pledge by Dwight Porter to maintain hand-made production, assuring music box owners of consistently fine quality workmanship and a growing value for the boxes they own.
